Mission, Vision and Values

General Aims and Objectives of the Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine

To train physicians who have a strong command of the health problems of society and are able to produce solutions to them, who follow scientific and technological developments, and who are competent at national and international levels; to be a faculty of medicine with the infrastructure and equipment to conduct research that makes original contributions to the field of health; and to succeed in being a qualified and competitive institution that can set an example for society in the delivery of health services, an inseparable part of educational and scientific processes.

Educational Aim:

Through its undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs, to train physicians who have a strong command of the priority health problems of society and are able to produce solutions to them, who follow scientific and technological developments, and who are competent at national and international levels.

Research Aim:

To provide a research environment in which undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and academic staff can make original scientific contributions to the field of health. To this end, to ensure the continuous professional development of faculty members and students, the infrastructure and equipment for their scientific research, interdisciplinary interaction in the production and presentation of scientific materials, the sharing of scientific research with the scientific community and society, and the encouragement of academic staff so that this process operates productively.

Service Aim:

To succeed in being a qualified and competitive institution that can set an example for society in the delivery of health services, and to provide services related to human health effectively, safely, continuously and in a timely manner in line with contemporary standards, and to monitor and evaluate their outcomes.

To train physicians who integrate scientific and societal needs with medical practice; who have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to respond to the health problems of society with qualified preventive and curative health services; who have acquired the ability to pursue continuous medical education; who are competent and qualified to contribute to medical science; and who are committed to ethical values and respectful of human rights.
