Family Medicine
Definition General practitioners/family doctors are trained according to the principles of the discipline. They are personal doctors, primarily responsible for the provision of comprehensive and continuing care to every individual seeking medical care irrespective of age, sex and illness. They care for individuals in the context of their family, their community, and their culture, always respecting the autonomy of their patients. They recognize and will also have a professional responsibility to their community. Briefly, a known, familier physician would take care of all family members not merely in the presence of the disease but also in the wedding ceremony, farewell to the mandatory military duty and for the contribution to the educational status of the children as well. HISTORY Family Medicine Department was established in 2000. Thirteen specialists were graduated from the Family Medicine Department until now.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT EDUCATION PROGRAM Research assistant education period is 3 years with a rotation program including pediatrics (5 months), internal medicine (4 months), gynecology and obstetrics (4 months), general surgery (1 month), psychiatry (1 month), cardiology (1 month) chest diseases and tuberculosis(1 month).
