HISTORY

       Department of Medical Biochemistry was established by Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Akdogan in 1993. It was put into service as Clinical Biochemistry Laborotary under the presidency of Professor Dr. Namik Delibas  between 1996-2008. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Vural took laborotary’s responsibility between 2008-2010. It is continued to give labour under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Fatih Gültekin at present.
There is a clinical biochemistry laborotary which are done routine biochemistry, hormone, haematology, electrophoresis, ELISA, molecular tests and urine analysis in SDU Research and Application Hospital in control of department. Also there are experimental learning, memory and research laborotaries. Common Project and thesis studies are carried out between our faculty and the other deparments in our laborotary equipped with modern devices. Clinical biochemistry laborotary is contained within SDU Research and Application Hospital rapidly and continually  put into service with academic staff of department and technical staff.

EDUCATION COURSE OF RESEARCH ASSISTANT

    Researh assistants have actively studied all units for four years in laborotary. At the end of education course, they take in charge laborotory administration. In addition, they get experience about planning and carrying out scientific researches during their education.  Every Wednesday, seminar and article time are done. Lessons are told to research assistant by academic staff of the department.

Vitamine levels (Folic acid, B12 ve vitamine D)

Haematologic tests (CBC, peripheral blood smear, sedimantation)

Coagulation tests ( PTT, aPTT, thrombin time, D-dimer, kollagen ADP, protein S, protein C, factor levels)

Blood gas analyses
