Year 1 Social Responsibility Course
Social Responsibility courses added to the Year 1 curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine for the 2024-2025 academic year have begun to be conducted with the participation of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from outside stakeholders of our Faculty in each class session. In the first class session, representatives of the NGOs that will contribute to the courses throughout the year and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Saygın, course coordinator and faculty member at our Faculty, met with students for course introduction and acquaintance.

The Social Responsibility course held on September 26, 2024 for the first class session was conducted by the Isparta Branch of Yeşilay. In the course, students were introduced to Yeşilay, and information about the Young Yeşilay team was provided. Experts in the field, including a psychologist and narcotics counselor, explained addiction to students.

The Social Responsibility course held on November 29, 2024 for the second class session was conducted by the Isparta Branch of the Red Crescent. In the opening remarks of the Isparta Red Crescent Branch President, information was provided about the Red Crescent and Red Crescent volunteerism, and blood service information was provided by blood branch officials. Following welfare project activities and disaster awareness training conducted by students together with the Red Crescent, the program continued with live music performances by students from the music department of the Fine Arts High School. At the end of the course, disaster tent setup training was provided by Red Crescent disaster personnel from the Ankara Red Crescent Disaster Response Center.
