TUBITAK 2209-A Project Success of Our Second-Year Students
Under the TUBITAK 2209-A Program, the research project led by Mehmet BALABAN, one of our second-year students, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nilgün GÜRBÜZ from the Department of Medical Biology, has been selected for funding. The one-year project, which also includes our second-year students Mehmet DİK and Özüm ÖZKÜRKÇÜ, as well as doctoral student Zeynep AKPINAR from Medical Biology, will investigate at the mechanistic level the anti-carcinogenic effects of cinnamon-derived compounds in advanced-stage pancreatic cancer cells with the goal of developing natural therapeutic approaches for pancreatic cancer treatment. As our students have shown interest, this project will provide significant scientific value to our students in terms of learning and applying basic molecular techniques in the laboratory, as well as developing the skills needed for advanced project development in the future.
