Third Session of the '360-Degree Active Life and Health' Project Completed

On November 25, 2024, the third session of the social contribution project themed "360-Degree Active Life and Health" was held at Suleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine. At the event titled "First Aid on the Field for Athletes and Coaches," the necessary knowledge and skills for athletes and coaches to provide proper intervention in emergency situations were transferred to participants. In the session conducted with a presentation by Res. Assist. Dr. Ahmet Said UYAN from the Department of Sports Medicine and moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sabriye ERCAN, the importance of first aid on the field and application techniques were emphasized. During the session, basic life support (CPR) applications and emergency intervention methods for potentially life-threatening situations that may occur on the field were taught to participants through hands-on training. Participants learned fundamental skills such as consciousness assessment, airway opening, and the POLICE protocol through practical experience. Common situations such as bleeding injuries, fractures, and loss of consciousness were discussed, and proper intervention techniques were examined. Additionally, the importance of always keeping medical support equipment available for athletes' chronic health problems was emphasized.

After answering questions from participants, the seminar ended. The fourth session of the seminar series will be held on December 2, 2024, at 15:30 at the Faculty of Medicine Term 3 Amphitheater under the title "Return to Sports After Sports Injuries."
