The TÜBİTAK 1002-A Project Where Science Blends with Art Advanced to the Implementation Phase in the Spring Term

In the project titled "The Effect of Ceramic Art on Holistic Psychosocial Well-Being and Motor Skills in Medical Students: A Mixed-Methods Study" conducted within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Program, the implementation and data collection process began as of the 2025-2026 spring term.

Within the scope of the project, medical school students participate in ceramic workshop activities according to established themes; the process is being monitored scientifically in parallel through psychosocial measurements and motor skill assessments.

Prof. Dr. Sabriye ERCAN serves as the project director, and the data collection process of the research is being conducted by our students Fatma Havva ÇATALKAYA and Batoul AYACH in our Faculty's Department of Sports Medicine. Ceramic applications are being conducted at the SDÜ Ceramic Research and Application Center under the instruction of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serap ÜNAL and Res. Assist. Ayşe Melike BİRCAN.

In this project, which aims to demonstrate the effects of art-based applications in the context of medical education through scientific methods, the works produced by our students will be permanently displayed in the School of Medicine building at the end of the spring term, and the project outputs will provide concrete contributions to the Faculty's academic and cultural environment.
