The Importance of Avicenna in Medicine and Pharmacy Was Explained
The 1st International Symposium on The Place of Avicenna in the Medicine and Pharmacy, jointly organized by the Department of Medical History and Ethics at Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine, was held on April 29, 2024.
Academicians from Turkey, Iran, and India participated as speakers at the symposium.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Fuat İNCE from Our Faculty of Medicine participated in the scientific event with his work titled "A Study on the Evaluation of \"Canon of Avicenna\" in Terms of Scientific Research Ethics,"
Prof. Dr. H. Kadircan KESKİNBORA presented on "The Rules of Testing Drugs of Ibn Sina,"
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arman ZARGARAN presented on "Medicinal Aspects of Opium in the Avicenna's Canon of Medicine,"
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amir Mohammad Jaladat presented on "A Review of Ibn Sina's Views on Fasd (blood Letting) and Its Clinical Applications,"
Assist. Prof. Dr. A Kashif Anwar presented on "Avicenna's Enduring Impact: Bridging the Past and Present in Medicine,"
Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ebrahim Zohalinezhad presented on "Preliminary Report on the Use of Probiotics for the Treatment of Diabetes."
The session in which all participants shared their views and the symposium results were evaluated was held under the chairmanship of Assist. Prof. Dr. Sajjad Sadeghi. The secretarial duties of the symposium were carried out by Doctoral Researcher Mahnaz Mortazavi.
We wish for an increase in joint events to be organized together with Süleyman Demirel University and Tehran University of Medical Sciences as a requirement of the international cooperation protocols, and we wish success to the newly established research center called "Studies Center of Avicenna's Medical Research."
