SDÜ 1st National Neuroscience Congress

1st National Neuroscience Congress Held by Suleyman Demirel University Neuroscience Society

The 1st National Neuroscience Congress, organized by Suleyman Demirel University (SDÜ) Neuroscience Student Society, was successfully held under the auspices of SDÜ between 15-17 May. The congress, prepared by student initiative, attracted attention with its scientific content and diversity of participants.

The opening speeches were delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alim Koşar, Faculty of Medicine Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sabriye Ercan, Society Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihat Şengeze, and Congress President Esra Şirazi, and the opening was enhanced with an artistic touch through a music performance.

Sessions by Prof. Dr. Halil Aşcı and Prof. Dr. Selçuk Çömlekçi on the first day received great interest. While the Psychology workshop and suture atelier provided applied training opportunities, student poster presentations supported academic sharing.

The second day gained scientific depth with speeches by Prof. Dr. Erdal Ağar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Giresun University, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ayyıldız from Ondokuz Mayıs University. Prof. Dr. Serpil Demirci and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vehbi Atahan Toğay from SDÜ also contributed significantly to the program with their presentations. Students also actively participated in the congress with oral presentations.

The event concluded in an artistic manner with an origami workshop held after the closing session. The congress was completed with a social tour on 17 May, allowing participants to discover the cultural and natural riches of Isparta.
