Our Project on the Knowledge, Prevention Behaviors, and the Impact of Breast Cancer and Breast Self-Examination Education among Female Students of Süleyman Demirel University Continues in Spring Term.
Our project titled "Knowledge, Prevention Behaviors, and the Impact of Breast Cancer and Breast Self-Examination Education among Female Students of Süleyman Demirel University," which began on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, continues in the spring term.
Since its inception, a total of 588 female students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Faculty of Architecture have been reached, and participation certificates were issued to those who completed the training.
Through the education we have provided, we aimed to increase breast cancer awareness, develop knowledge and skills in self-conducted breast examination/breast self-examination (BSE), which plays an important role in early diagnosis, assess and improve prevention behaviors related to breast cancer through the health belief model.
In the long term, the expected outcome of the project will be to ensure that female students with increased awareness about breast cancer and BSE live their lives as advantaged individuals in terms of lifelong early diagnosis and secondary prevention.
Female students with increased awareness will not only benefit from secondary prevention themselves, but also ensure that other women in their close circles and families gain awareness about breast cancer through the widespread impact of the project.
