International Academic and Scientific Achievements of Our Year 5 Student

Ahmet Onat Özdemir, a Year 5 student at our Faculty, has achieved significant accomplishments through international research activities, academic mobility programs, and scientific publications during his medical education. Since Year 2, under the academic guidance of Dr. Osman Gürdal, he has participated in various research and observation programs in Italy, the United States, and Japan.

Our student participated in research activities at the University of Salerno twice under the Erasmus program; a systematic review to which he contributed was published in The American Journal of Medicine, a Q1 category journal (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.amjmed.2025.05.049). He also had the opportunity to observe research work on glioblastoma immunotherapy and neuropathology in person at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).

Our student attended the International Neuro2024 Congress held in Japan in 2024. In 2026, he successfully completed a one-month observation program at the Department of Human Pathology of Juntendo University and earned a certificate. Additionally, his scientific work has been supported by the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordination Unit of Süleyman Demirel University.

These achievements are important indicators of our student's development and competence in international academic experience, scientific research, and publishing.
