Innovative Educational Materials from the SDÜ Faculty of Medicine–YETEM Collaboration: A Spine Model Used in Scoliosis Awareness Training
Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine has entered into an important collaboration to integrate technological innovations in education. As a result of joint work with YETEM – Innovation Technologies Application and Research Center operating within our university, models representing fundamental anatomical structures such as the spine, femur, tibia, and fibula were produced.

The spine model developed in this scope was used for the first time in June during an educational event held at SDÜ Hospital as part of "Scoliosis Awareness Month." In this initiative aimed at conveying the anatomical effects of scoliosis to participants in a more concrete and effective manner, the model developed through YETEM collaboration received significant interest. During the training, the differences between normal spine structure and scoliotic spine were examined in detail, and hands-on explanations were provided to participants.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sabriye ERCAN, the principal investigator of the project supported by SDÜ Research Foundation, stated: "Through the collaboration we have established with YETEM, we are developing quality materials that will make concrete contributions to medical education and public awareness events. The use of our spine model in scoliosis awareness training is a concrete example of interdisciplinary synergy within the university."
As SDÜ Faculty of Medicine, we will continue to collaborate with our university's research and application centers to provide our students with a more effective educational environment and enhance health literacy for society.
