"Health Street" Community Contribution Project in the Land of Roses

YOUNG DOCTORS OF THE WORLD FROM SÜLEYMAN DEMIREL UNIVERSITY ORGANIZE "HEALTH STREET" ACTIVITIES IN TWO DISTRICTS

Young Doctors of the World, operating within Süleyman Demirel University, under the direction of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Emre Akın from the Department of Thoracic Surgery of our Faculty, organized "Health Street" activities in the districts of Yalvaç and Gönen as part of a community contribution project.

In the activities, where a total of 100 volunteer university students participated, citizens received free health information and basic health checks.

Within the scope of the Health Street initiative, work was conducted on the following topics: General Medical History Blood Pressure Measurement Blood Sugar Measurement Oral and Dental Health Body Mass Index Measurement Child Health Activities Eye Health Physiotherapy Rational Drug Use General Assessment Blood Information Awareness Activities

Despite the cold weather conditions, in the activities that attracted significant public interest, the goals were to promote healthy living habits, the importance of early diagnosis, and the spread of preventive health awareness.

Taner Göktürk, the Club President, stated that their objective was not merely to provide information, but to create sustainable health awareness in society, and expressed that the work would continue in different districts throughout Isparta.

It was emphasized that the activities serve as an important example of strengthening university-community cooperation and enabling youth to play active roles in the field with a sense of social responsibility.
