Health Awareness Training Programs Launched

On April 8, 2025, an educational session titled "Are You Safe Regarding Infectious Diseases?" was held at the Suleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine in the Year 1 amphitheater as part of the Health Awareness Activities. The program aimed to provide students with information on protection against infectious diseases, types of infectious diseases, causative agents, transmission methods, symptoms, and treatment options.

The program commenced with remarks from Prof. Dr. Ersin USKUN, a faculty member of the Department of Public Health, who also served as the session moderator. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Ersin USKUN discussed the epidemiology of infectious diseases whose awareness has been increasing globally and in our country, highlighting their contemporary sociocultural implications. The educational session proceeded with presentations from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra NURLU TEMEL from the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, and Prof. Dr. Selma KORKMAZ from the Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases.

In their presentations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra NURLU TEMEL and Prof. Dr. Selma KORKMAZ provided information on infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, HPV, and Hepatitis B and C. Following the educational session, which aimed to raise student awareness about these diseases, student questions were answered. At the conclusion of the program, certificates of participation that could contribute to participants' social transcripts were sent via email.

The second and third sessions of the program continued on April 9, 2025, at Suleyman Demirel University Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Health Sciences.

The fourth session of the program, which will continue throughout the 2024-2025 academic year in various faculties and vocational schools, will be held on April 18, 2025, at the Faculty of Dentistry.
