Fourth Health Awareness Training on "Communicable Diseases" Completed at Suleyman Demirel University

The fourth Health Awareness Training titled "Are You Safe About Communicable Diseases?" was held on April 29, 2025, in the Shahid Ekrem ÇELİK Conference Hall, E8 Block, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Suleyman Demirel University (SDÜ). The event aimed to increase students' knowledge of communicable diseases and to provide a multidisciplinary perspective on the epidemiology, clinical findings, transmission dynamics, and prevention strategies of these diseases.

Prof. Dr. Ersin USKUN, faculty member from the Department of Public Health, delivered the opening remarks, supporting his presentation with epidemiological data on the global and national impact of communicable diseases on morbidity and mortality. He further emphasized the importance of these diseases for public health by highlighting their sociocultural and economic dimensions.

As part of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra NURLU TEMEL from the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology and Prof. Dr. Selma KORKMAZ from the Department of Dermatology and Venereology delivered detailed presentations on the pathogenesis, diagnostic methods, treatment protocols, and preventive medicine applications of important communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS, HPV, Hepatitis B and C.

In the question-and-answer session, participants engaged interactively and topics were discussed in depth. At the end of the program, digital participation certificates were provided to students to contribute to their academic and professional development.

The fifth session of the SDÜ Health Awareness Training Program will be held on May 14, 2025, at Egirdir School of Health Services. These trainings aim to help students reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical applications and increase their awareness toward public health.
