Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine Department of Public Health, on October 9-10, organized an important field trip with Term 3 students to create awareness about the scope and importance of environmental health, increase students' environmental awareness, and contribute to their professional development. During the field trip, students under the leadership of Department of Public Health faculty members Prof. Dr. Ersin USKUN and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür ÖNAL visited the city's wastewater treatment facility and solid waste storage area, gaining the opportunity to obtain information on the ground about critical issues related to environmental health. These visits were an important step in on-site observation of the effects of environmental pollution, waste management, and water resource protection on public health, and in raising awareness on this subject. While emphasizing the importance of environmental health in medicine, students were also educated on sustainable environmental management issues.
