Dear Candidates;

Our goals and objectives as the Faculty of Medicine Deanery are to: train physicians who are competent nationally and internationally, capable of understanding society's health problems and producing solutions, able to follow scientific and technological developments; establish a Faculty of Medicine with infrastructure and equipment to conduct research that will make unique contributions to the field of health; and become an organization with qualified and competitive capacity that can serve as a model to society in health service provision, which is an integral part of educational and scientific processes.

• Registration and Admission Requirements;

Article 6- (1) Student registration and admission procedures for Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine are conducted in accordance with the principles established by the Council of Higher Education and determined by the Student Selection and Placement Center. The registration and admission procedures for candidate students are announced by the Student Affairs Directorate. Candidates who do not apply on time or fail to provide required documents lose their registration rights.

Commencement of Education, Teaching Method and Duration of Education

Article 12- (1) Education at Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine begins on the date approved by the Faculty Council at the end of the previous year and ratified by the University Senate. The academic calendar is announced to students at the beginning of the academic year. With the exception of the Family Medicine (internship) level, mid-year breaks are given in other year levels.

Common Mandatory Courses

Article 18- (1) Atatürk Principles and History of Revolution, Foreign Language and Turkish Language courses are taught as annual courses, while Basic Information Technology Use is taught in one semester. It is subject to Süleyman Demirel University Common Mandatory Courses Education and Examination Regulations.

(2) Students who fail common mandatory courses cannot start the Family Medicine level. (Added by Senate Decision No. 496/7-a dated 04.10.2018.)

Teaching Method

Article 13- (1) Education at Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine is conducted with an integrated system. Year promotion basis is applied in Period I, II and III. In Period IV and Period V, clinical internship education is conducted. Each clinical internship has the nature of a course and course passing principles are applied; internship durations are determined by the Faculty Council together with annual programs.

Students in Period II, III, IV, V and VI who participate in domestic/international exchange programs or go to other higher education institutions, if they go to places that do not provide equivalent education, upon return they must first complete their missing internships and courses. If they have taken courses from a higher year level, they are exempted from those courses. Students who successfully complete all internships and courses begin the Family Medicine level. The Family Medicine program is completed fully within a certain discipline. (Modified by Senate Decision No. 496/7-a dated 04.10.2018.)

Attendance Status

Article 15- (1) Attendance at theoretical and practical courses and internships is mandatory.

(2) To be able to take the exam in each course unit in Period I, II and III, attendance at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of each practical course in that course unit is mandatory. Students exceeding attendance limits receive an NA grade and cannot take the course unit exam. If the total absenteeism in all course units in an academic year exceeds 30% of theoretical courses and 20% of practical courses, the student cannot take the year-end and make-up exams. (3) In Period IV and V, attendance of at least 70% of theoretical courses and at least 80% of practical courses for each internship is mandatory; in Period VI, attendance of at least 80% of each internship period is mandatory. Students whose absenteeism exceeds these limits receive an NA grade, cannot take internship exams and internship make-up exams, and must repeat the internship. • Clothing and equipment materials required by the profession, consumable supplies used in course applications, costs of tools and equipment; examination, material and education and training service costs;

Consumable materials used in laboratory education and measurement-evaluation materials and costs at our faculty are covered by our university. Materials such as gowns, slippers, stethoscopes, etc. are covered by the student.

• Opportunities to work as a part-time student and whether additional fees are paid during internship and practical education under certain conditions;

Our university recruits part-time students to the announced positions with the aim of helping students evaluate their free time according to their work, rest and interest areas; enabling them to gain new interest areas; contributing to improving their social situation and developing their abilities; and instilling regular and disciplined work habits. Applications will be made between October 11-13, 2021 and will be conducted online at <https://ilkbasvuru.sdu.edu.tr/>. Required qualifications are evaluated by relevant departments.
