360-Degree Active Living and Health Project: Fifth Session Held
The fifth session of the community contribution project themed "360-Degree Active Living and Health" was held on December 9, 2024 in the Term 3 Auditorium of Suleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine. The event on the topic of "Performance Testing in Sports" addressed how to measure athletes' physical capacities and the effects of these tests on performance improvement. Participants gained knowledge about the most recent testing methods used to increase efficiency in sports.
The session, conducted through a presentation by Res. Asst. Dr. Fatih Uğur TAŞ from the Department of Sports Medicine, also covered practical tests for different performance criteria such as muscle strength, endurance, speed, and agility, as well as tests being conducted at our Sports Medicine clinic, which is the only one in the Mediterranean Region with the competency to provide resident training. Participants learned how to correctly perform the tests and how results should be analyzed. The event concluded with important information that will aid athletes in working more efficiently.
The program was successfully completed with responses to participant questions and feedback. The sixth session of this seminar series will continue on December 16, 2024 at 3:30 PM in the Term 3 Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine with the title "Nutrition for Athletes."
