Health Awareness Trainings at the Faculty of Architecture

As part of Süleyman Demirel University's Health Awareness Activities, on May 26, 2025, an educational program titled "Are You Safe Regarding Contagious Diseases?" was organized specifically for Architecture Faculty students. The program's objective was to provide students with information about contagious diseases and foster awareness to support healthy living in personal and public spaces.

Prof. Dr. Ersin USKUN, a faculty member from the Department of Public Health who gave the opening speech of the session, addressed the effects of infectious diseases on public health, particularly drawing attention to the relationship between urbanization, crowded living spaces, and architectural design decisions with disease transmission. In his speech, he also emphasized the importance of considering epidemiological data from the perspective of the architecture discipline.

In the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra NURLU TEMEL from the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology and Prof. Dr. Selma KORKMAZ from the Department of Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases delivered informative presentations about important contagious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, HPV, Hepatitis B, and C. Throughout the presentations, not only medical information but also practical suggestions on how students can take preventive measures in their personal lives were shared.

In the event where participating students showed active engagement, mutual interaction was facilitated through a question-and-answer session. Digital participation certificates that could appear in their social transcripts were sent to training participants via email systems.
