DEPARTMENT INTRODUCTION

Our department  is a reference clinic in our region, where the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, which is the organ with the largest and largest surface area of our body. In addition, the diagnosis and treatment of mucous membranes, hair, nails and sexually transmitted diseases are performed. Health services are offered by highly distinguished and qualified faculty members.

Our department was founded in 1994 by Dr.Vahide Baysal. Our department, which has trained many specialists since its establishment, has a health staff that provides highly qualified education and health services . In our department, pre and post graduate education activities and scientific researches are carried out successfully as well as providing health services.

In our unit, which currently accepts an average of 90-100 patients per day, accompanied by a 12 bed service, 3 outpatient clinics.More than twenty thousand patient examinations are performed annually. Our faculty members also make patient examinations upon appointment

THE FOLLOWING UNITS ARE IN OUR DEPARTMENT

DERMATOALERGY UNIT: Skin patch test, prick test and intradermal skin tests are applied in various allergic skin diseases such as urticaria, atopic eczema, and contact eczema.

DIGITAL DERMATOSCOPY UNIT: With the dermatoscopic examination method which is an important guide in the typing, analysis, follow-up of nevus and in the early diagnosis of skin cancers, especially melanoma, skin symptoms are examined with a magnification of 10-100 times  and changes that may develop during the follow-up period can be easily detected by recording when necessary.

DERMATOLOGICAL SURGERY UNIT: In this unit; skin biopsy, removal of benign and malignant tumoral lesions of the skin, ingrown nail treatment and nail extraction are performed under local anesthesia for the diagnosis of skin diseases. In addition, some benign or malignant skin cancers such as warts, nevus, actinic keratosis, seborrheic keratosis and precancerous skin symptoms are treated by shaving, burning and freezing.

PHOTO(CHEMO)THERAPY UNIT: In this unit, where whole body narrow band UVB, PUVA applications and local / bath / comb PUVA applications are made for many skin diseases, especially psoriasis, vitiligo disease, lichen planus, hair loss, chronic eczema and skin lymphoma 2-3 times a week.

MYCOLOGY UNIT: For the diagnosis of superficial and deep-seated fungal diseases and parasitic diseases of the skin, a skin scraping sample is searched for fungi or parasites under the microscope.

DERMATOCOSMETOLOGY UNIT: Skin care, removal of comedones (blackheads), treatment of skin blemishes and pregnancy masks, peeling (superficial peeling) are performed. Mesotherapy, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), gold needle radiofrequency, botulinum toxin and filling applications are performed to prevent skin aging. Mesotherapy and PRP (platelet rich plasma) are applied for hair. Laser applications are performed for vein clarification, staining and tattoo removal on the skin.
