DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL GENETICS

Medical Genetics is a Department of Internal Medicine. It covers the services provided as a whole, with laboratory diagnostic tests, applied to individuals/couples who have genetic component (sporadic and/or familial) diseases, are suspected of having a genetic disease, or having a child with a genetic disease.

Medical Genetics focuses not only on the patient but also on all family members who are related to the upper generation and to the lower generations who will join the family in the future.

Among the areas with which he cooperates most frequently are the units of Pediatrics and Diseases, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Neurology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Urology, Skin and Venereal Diseases, and Ophthalmology.

In our department, patient service, education, and research activities are carried out with a multidisciplinary approach. It provides diagnostic services for genetic diseases with three faculty members, four experienced biologists in the cytogenetics and molecular genetics laboratory, and a laboratory assistant.

Our laboratory, where test studies are carried out actively, is located opposite the PET CT and stone crushing units.

Laboratory Working Hours

It is given every weekday between 08:00-17:00.
