HİSTORY


Suleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine was established on 17 July 1993. In 1994, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet SALBACAK started to work as the first faculty member and Head of the Department of Anatomy. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet SALBACAK left his job in June 1999 and was appointed to Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine Anatomy Department. In 2002, the Department moved from the city center to its current location in the Faculty of Medicine Dean's Building (Morphology Building) on the East Campus. Anatomy Department Laboratory was arranged as a student dissection hall and a model study room. Theoretical and practical teaching of anatomy is still carried out in this building.


LOCATION and CAPACITY


In our Anatomy Department laboratory, there are units where a 108 m2 student dissection room, 183 m2 student model room, two cadaver dissection rooms for faculty members, a cadaver room where 14 adult cadavers are kept, a morgue unit and 346 fetal cadavers are kept.

1- FACULTY OF MEDICINE COURSES


In the first year, 60 hours of theoretical and 30 hours of practice, a total of 90 hours of courses are given in the spring semester. These courses are: General Anatomy, Terminology, Skeletal System and Articular System.

In the second year, a total of 202 hours of classes are given, including 140 hours of theory and 66 hours of practice. These courses are Muscular System, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Alimentary System, Urinary System, Genital System, Nervous System and Endocrine Glands.

 

2- FACULTY OF DENTISTRY COURSES


In class II of dentistry, in the fall and spring semesters, 134 hours of theoretical and 32 hours of practice, a total of 165 hours, especially head and neck anatomy, General Anatomy, Terminology, Skeletal System, Articular System, Muscular System, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Alimentary System, Urinary System, Genital System, Nervous System and Endocrine Glands courses are given.


3- HEALTH SCIENCES AND PHARMACY FACULTY COURSES


Midwifery Department:

Human Anatomy: In the first year, in the fall semester, 56 hours of theoretical 30 hours of practice, a total of 86 hours of lectures on systematic anatomy subjects are given.

Nursing Department:

Human Anatomy: In the first year, in the fall semester, 56 hours of theoretical 30 hours of practice, a total of 86 hours of lectures on systematic anatomy subjects are given.

Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department:

Anatomy I and II: General Anatomy, Terminology, Skeletal System, Articular System, Muscular System, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Alimentary System, Urinary System, Genital System, Nervous System and Endocrine Glands courses are given.

Functional Neuroanatomy: In the second year, a total of 28 hours of theoretical functional neuroanatomy topics are given in the fall semester.

Department of Pharmacy: In the second year, in the fall semester, 56 hours of theoretical systematic anatomy courses are given.
