Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine was established on April 15, 1993. The Department of Otorhinolaryngology started to provide services in the historical Stone Building in 1994. The construction of the hospital in the eastern  campus of  Süleyman Demirel University was completed at the end of 2000 and commenced to provide service in this hospital in the early days of 2001, Prof. Dr. Hasan Yasan has been the chairman of the department since 2016.

There are four outpatient clinics, one local intervention room, a fourteen-bed inpatient service and one general anesthesia operating room belonging to the Department. Approximately 24,000 outpatient ENT examinations, approximately 1200 inpatient medical treatments and approximately 3000 surgeries are performed annually in the department. There is a nurse and a staff member in the local intervention room used for minor ENT surgeries. Operations performed under local anesthesia are performed in this room and most of the patients are discharged on the same day. Two medical secretaries are on duty in the outpatient clinic to manage the clinical records, three audiometrists for hearing tests, BERA, otoacoustic emission test, screening ABR and a specialist audiologist and a nurse for further audiological tests. There are two hearing test cabinets, two audiometry devices, two tympanometry devices, one device used for detailed audiological examinations (such as BERA), flexible and rigid endoscopic imaging devices, microscopes and devices used during ENT procedures in the outpatient clinic and operating room.

Many ENT specialist physicians have been graduated since its establishment, three professors, one associate professor and one assistant professor have been still giving lectures and contributing education of residents. Graduated physicians who succeed in Medical Specialization Examination (TUS) are entitled to become research resident, and the education period of the resident is 5 years in the department. The residents have also education period in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Emergency Medicine for one month. Education contributing seminars and case discussions are held for research assistants every wednesday in the ENT Department.
